The possibility of drinkable water being restored by Wednesday next week speeds up the timeline by nearly a month. Water Resources estimated earlier in November that the boil water notice could be lifted by mid-December.

Asheville Water Resources Public Information Officer Clay Chandler stated in an update briefing Monday morning that the advisory has been lifted following a sample process that occurred over the weekend.

Asheville’s boil water advisory was lifted on Monday, Nov. 18, nearly two months after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on the western region of North Carolina. The advisory went into effect over 50 days ago.
