It's been 14 years since the now Prince and Princess of Wales announced their engagement, but there's one name he called his wife-to-be that he never uses now.

Kate wore her famed sapphire engagement ring during a slate of engagements for the annual Festival of Remembrance.

In 1937, Prince Philip's sister Princess Cecilie died in an air accident. In 1942, Queen Elizabeth II's uncle Prince George was also killed in a similar incident, as was the late Queen's cousin, Prince William of Gloucester, in 1972.

In March, Kate confirmed she had been diagnosed with an unknown form of cancer. What followed was a nine-month battle as she underwent “preventative chemotherapy”. She endured intense online speculation in the weeks leading up to the public announcement and has largely stayed out of the spotlight since.
