An ugly losing streak has the Bears’ season on the verge of falling apart. Whether they can save the struggling Williams from failure is the most important question they’ve faced in years.

Williams has a bevy of weapons in veteran receivers DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, plus tight end Cole Kmet and rookie first-round receiver Rome Odunze. That's the type of playmaking collection the Bears were missing with their previous first-round investments in quarterbacks Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields.

All but two of his remaining opponents are in the top third of the league in scoring defense, and every one of them is in the top half in pressuring quarterbacks and ranked 17th or better in opponent passer rating.
