Tropical Storm Sara formed Thursday afternoon in the western Caribbean. Tropical Storm Sara has formed in the western Caribbean, with significant impacts becoming likely for Honduras. The 1 pm advisory from the National Hurricane Center upgraded Tropical Depression Nineteen to a tropical storm, with winds of 40 mph.

Tropical Storm Sara officially became a named storm after forming in the Caribbean Thursday, the National Hurricane Center said, and while it’s currently forecasted to impact Central America, there’s a possibility it may head toward the already-battered Gulf coast of Florida.
