Tropical Storm Sara formed Thursday in the Caribbean, and is poised to deliver "potentially catastrophic" rainfall in Honduras in particular. It's not yet clear if it will threaten the Gulf Coast, though it's possible.

Tropical Storm Sara formed this afternoon and threatens to bring "life-threatening and potentially catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides" to Honduras throughout the weekend, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center. A turn toward Florida is still possible, forecasters said.

As PTC 19 lingers in the Caribbean it will bring heavy rainfall for Jamaica and the Cayman Islands over the next couple of days. There is still some uncertainty for impacts as we move ahead but gulf states, should check back daily for the latest updates and forecast.
