Former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique's assassination was reportedly planned just days after a shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in April, sources from Mumbai Police's Crime Branch have revealed.

Aftab Poonawala, who allegedly killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar in 2022, was reportedly on the target list of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

An investigation into the murder of politician Baba Siddique led to the discovery of the gang’s plans to ‘target’ Aftab Poonawala, which was later dropped given his heightened security.

In May 2022, Aftab Poonawala, Walkar's live-in-partner, allegedly strangled her to death. He then chopped her body into 35 pieces.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang had plans to kill Aftab Poonawala, who is presently on trial for the gruesome murder of his girlfriend, Shraddha Walkar.
